We got this story for our grandson as he was preparing for the current lacrosse season. I read the book first and although the writing isn't at a high professional level it is better than I could have done. The story line used was excellent in sharing not only the history of lacrosse but American history. I read the book straight through and enjoyed it immensely. The grandson read randomly through the book choosing chapters that sounded interesting but wasn't every really caught up in the story and has yet to finish the book BUT at one of the team huddles this season he told team mates what the author had to say about "honor the game" so what he read made an impression. I guess I would recommend this story as a starting history of the sport and they can progress from there in any direction for a deeper lacrosse experience. I liked the book
My husband heard about this book and I searched high and low for it....It is VERY hard to find, but finely I found it @ Amazon.com. It was purchased for our 15 year old son, who loves the sport, lacrosse. My husband started reading it and said it is very interesting. It is about the birth of the stick in lacrosse that was made by Indians. This book was highly recommended to my husband and now my husband highly recommends it. After my son reads it and my husband has finished reading it then I will too!

My 13 y/o LOVED this book. It's a quick read. Great story of Lacrosse, my son read it for a school book report :-) After reading it, my reluctant reader wanted to know if Neil Duffy wrote more. To me that says it all.
Bought for Lacrosse playing grand-daughter.
This is a great book for anyone adult or child who loves lax. My son played for years and now is to old and mens is a little to ruff.
I bought this for my 12 year old son for Christmas and he loves this book. Very inspiring! Highly recommend!
